University of Cincinnati Digital Futures

We delivered custom architectural elements that helped bring this innovation center into the future

As part of a complete fitout of the University of Cincinnati’s Digital Futures building—a cornerstone of the Cincinnati Innovation District—Stanton Millworks designed and fabricated a variety of custom elements that brought modern finishes to the future-forward space.

Our scope of work includes:

  • More than 220 beech wood panels with a custom-etched patterns installed along the corridors on the fourth and fifth floors
  • White oak slat walls throughout the fourth and fifth floors
  • 20 custom beech wood work station tops encased in metal frames
  • 3 custom reception desks, including two that feature unique contemporary designs
  • Cabinetry and casework in kitchenettes and miscellaneous areas throughout the building

A collaborative approach

As one of the area’s leading centers for innovation, Digital Futures is a collaborative space, which is what made our partnership with the University of Cincinnati so apt. In particular, we partnered with UC’s 1819 Innovation Hub—where students can create and build in a fully equipped makerspace—to fabricate the etched beech wood panels for a truly one-of-a-kind solution rooted in craftsmanship and collaboration. For the remaining elements, especially the custom reception desks and other high-end finishes, we helped UC bring their vision for an exciting, modern space to life through our unmatched skill, proven process, and dedicated attention to detail.
